As a business major at Loyola University in downtown Chicago, John Person worked part-time under the direct supervision of George Lane, credited as the innovator of the widely known Stochastic indicator. John became a Series 3 licensed broker, a Registered Commodity Representative with both the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and Chicago Board of Trade and branch manager of 1st American Discount Corp. under the direction of Bill Mallers Sr.

Over the years, John has become an internationally recognized specialist in investments, trading and financial management. He has written several internationally popular books that target trading futures as well as exchange-traded funds and stocks including A Complete Guide to Technical Trading Tactics, Forex Conquered and Trading Triggers. He also developed a number of DVD trading courses on his pivot point and candlestick trading strategies, authored a weekly trading publication and hosted a financial radio show.

John is currently registered with the National Futures Association as a commodity trading advisor and is an elected member of The American Association of Professional Technical Analysts. He is the founder and former president of First National Futures Group, an Introducing Brokerage firm cleared through M.F. Global. He is also the founder and president of John Person Inc., dba Personsplanet.com.

In addition to consulting with various institutions and banks and providing workshops for various trading industry organizations around the world, John has been a featured speaker at numerous international conferences including Traders World in Germany, the Technical and Traders conferences in Paris and events in Hong Kong, Singapore, Egypt, Australia, China and many others. He has also spoken regularly at Money Show events for the past fifteen years.

John’s goal is to help educate traders on the positive aspects that trading can provide, using time-tested techniques based on the technical tools and technology available in the financial industry.
